LaGuardia Airport,
Queens, NY Bunting was awarded two separate packages to manufacture the façade for LaGuardia Airport. Both the East End Substation and the Parking Garage will feature an aluminum fin façade. The façade is unique in that there are three separate profiles that are incorporated into the overall design.
There were several challenges to overcome with the designs. First, the connections and engineering had to be detailed to the satisfaction of the Port Authority engineers in NY and NJ and be specific to each structure. There were several re-designs in this process. Second, getting the coating finish into the tight spaces of the V-returns in the design was an accomplishment. The second structure is an 1100 car parking garage that will be located on the west side of the terminal. The original main garage will be demolished to make way for the new central terminal building. Similar Projects
